12-8pm, 60 Newcastle Road: Julie's Tea House -Enjoy a cup of tea with Julie Friedrich, Galway's most popular community artist. There will be an exhibition of photographs by Julie, poetry recitals, an interactive sound-sculpture and music by local musicians. From midday until late evening you will be entertained in the comfort of Jimmy's gaff. Free

1pm,
Bank of Ireland Theatre, NUI Galway: Sorcas Quircas -an interactive experience for all ages. Pipa the cleaning woman gets a job in the circus. But oh no! Too many toys to play with, too much fun to have! Will the job ever get done? Sorcas Quircas invites the audience to be part of Pipa's journey through the world of circus... and maybe even become a circus performer themselves. 5 euro

, Bank of Ireland Theatre, NUI Galway: Galway artist Stephanie González will perform Plastic Age, a piece which explores consumerism in a contemporary world of fake ideals. Using a collaboration of different media, this visual performance identifies how human nature has become dislodged and transformed into a paradise of contentment for material dominance. (Thur&Fri 6pm) 5 euro

8pm until late, Áras na nGael: Suba Suba, a Galway collective of artists, present an evening of drumming, dance and art from West Africa.

-a collection of African tribal art
-"One Day in Africa" photo exhibition

9pm, Kelly's: The Tectonics are a little bomb waiting to go off. A punchy powerpop trio, with a rock'n'roll edge and more hooks than Hugh Duffy's fishing tackle shop!
Marcus Molloy on bass and Seamus Sullivan on drums (once the rhythm section of The Big Geraniums) provide pumping rhythms pushing incessantly to the dancefloor. The spice in the sauce comes from the spikey guitar of Eoin O'Brien (former member of Kila, Cookers and Claydolls), while all three contribute their vocal harmonies peppering their three-minute fillets of pop. 5 euro
